Saving lives in Israel and across the world

For more than 60 years, Magen David Adom UK has raised funds for medical equipment, ambulances, bloodmobiles and stations to benefit all Israel’s citizens – Arabs, Christians, Druze and Jews.

Haiti EarthquakeAs Israel’s only national ambulance and medical emergency service, Magen David Adom (MDA) responds to more than 600,000 calls a year with a fleet of 900 vehicles, including 750 ambulances at 123 stations across the length and breadth of the country. Its workforce of 13,600 comprises 12,000 volunteers, making it Israel’s largest voluntary organisation and ensures that every pound raised is used as productively as possible.

MDA also works internationally to share its support and expertise with those in need around the world. As a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Magen David Adom has helped in New Orleans, Indonesia, Haiti and countless other locations in need of urgent support. With the ongoing civilian catastrophe in Syria, MDA UK has been instrumental in facilitating a shipment of drugs worth £360,000 from the Israeli pharmaceutical company Teva to camps in Jordan housing Syrian refugees.

The contribution from thousands of supporters in the UK cannot be underestimated. There are entire regions of Israel that would not have fully functioning ambulance stations were it not for the generosity of its donors.

MDA is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation that depends on support from donors around the world to save more lives.
