Whether it is a primary function of providing products and services to customers or part of the business operation, workplace driving is part of most organisations and often we don’t even realise it. If you’re focused on delivering results then it probably isn’t at the top of your list of things to deal with, but if your employees are driving for your organisation, even if it is in their own vehicle, then you have a responsibility.
Laws to protect organisations and their employees cover a broad range of areas, and driving for work is no different. And with driving being one of the most hazardous activities we undertake on a frequent basis, we need to ensure we are acting in line with legislation that protects the health and safety of employees at work.
