Heritage Foundation president challenges WEF claims at Davos, labels elites "part of the problem"

In a bold move at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts challenged the forum’s assertions of protecting democracy and referred to the so-called elites as "part of the problem."

Roberts, invited to speak on a panel titled "What to expect from a possible Republican administration," expressed his surprise at being included among global leaders and emphasized his dedication to representing the voices of the "forgotten people" often overlooked by Davos attendees.

During a post-speech briefing, Roberts highlighted that these forgotten individuals extend beyond the economically disadvantaged, encompassing small business owners and those who believe the American Dream is slipping away. He emphasized their shared belief that elites misrepresent the current reality on issues such as border security and climate change.

Responding to a question about former President Trump’s potential return and his promise of "retribution," Roberts dismissed the notion that Davos was safeguarding liberal democracy, calling it "laughable." He further rejected the use of the term "dictatorship" in connection with Trump, deeming it absurd.

Roberts asserted that the next conservative president would possess a popular mandate to challenge the power of elites. He pointedly informed the Davos audience that, respectfully, they are part of the problem, accusing elites of presenting a skewed version of reality on critical issues.

When questioned about potential figures in a second Trump administration, Roberts insisted that the president-elect would decide. However, he emphasized the need for officials who prioritize dismantling the influence of political elites and unelected technocrats over average citizens.

In an earlier appearance on Fox Business with Maria Bartiromo, Roberts remarked on the lack of resonance for the "America First" message at Davos. He argued that despite the limited representation of this perspective among thousands of attendees, such policies benefit Americans and the global community when freedom peaks in the United States.
