Digitising the retail supply chain

6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
The House of Lords, Westminster, London

Navigating global turbulence through visibility, agility and efficiency

Global supply chains continue to operate in a turbulent and uncertain business environment. For many retailers and consumer goods companies, major challenges stem from subdued consumer confidence, unpredictable trade policy shifts, evolving regulations, and impacts of climate change on food production and supply chain operations.

Responding to the full scope of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity is far from easy, but there are actions that organisations can take to enhance resilience by mitigating the impacts of disruption. Digitising supply chain processes enhances visibility, enables faster decisions and boost efficiency. Advanced supply chain technologies, such as AI agents, command centres and advanced analytics play a key role, but must be carefully deployed to drive business outcomes.

In addition to deploying new technologies, many companies can boost supply chain resilience through enhancing their existing tools and processes. Improving data sharing within organisations can unlock new insights, whereas addressing data quality issues can dramatically improve efficiency of supply chain collaboration.

Opportunities exist, but how can we tap into them? Join us for a networking dinner with your peers to exchange ideas and gain practical insights. This is an exclusive event and seat numbers are very limited, so apply for your place now.

The topics we will explore

During the meeting we will focus on questions such as:

  • What implications have the recent trade policy uncertainties have on retail supply chains in the UK and how will they impact strategy going forward?
  • What upcoming regulatory developments (e.g. digital product passports, electronic invoicing, emissions reporting, forced labour) are organisations tracking and which are likely to have the biggest impact?
  • What recent experiences have participants had in piloting and adopting AI and other advanced technologies, and what opportunities excite them in the near term?
  • What are the most pressing challenges with current collaboration between retailers and consumer goods companies?
  • Challenging status quo with established processes – How to tell the difference between cost of doing business and value loss due to inefficiency?
  • What does the future hold for supply chain management? What are the most critical areas for improving retail supply chains in the UK?
