Integrating cyber resilience

8:00 AM - 10:30 AM
The Goring Hotel, London

Taking an integrated approach to operational resilience and recovery after a data breach

It’s not if, but when. Most organisations believe that cyber-attacks are inevitable. It’s inevitable that sometimes criminals will break through infosec defences. And when that happens there is a key question that has to be asked: how quickly can you recover your business?

Recovery from a cyber-attack is painful, complicated and difficult. How do you know what steps to take? How can you decide on the minimum operating levels appropriate for your business? And, most importantly, how can you keep trading while recovery operations are still underway?

The truth is that most businesses are not specialists in cyber-resilience.

We will explore why this isn’t just an IT problem and why integrating cyber-security across the organisation is essential for operational resilience. And we will examine how you can ensure that business continues as usual. For example, with ransomware the ability to restore data from protected backups is central to resilience. But backups are irrelevant if you don’t know how to use them.

This is a complex area, and getting more complex as technologies such as AI and quantum computing evolve. Join us in this discussion of how to take an integrated approach to business resilience.

The questions we will explore

During the meeting we will focus on topics such as:

  • Why is cyber-resilience so important to organisations? How are cyber-threats changing as technology evolves?
  • What are the essential features of an integrated, cyber-resilient organisation? How can a holistic approach to cyber-security enable businesses to continue trading, even during an attack?
  • What is the purpose of backing up data and how can this be best achieved? And how can backups be used efficiently as part of a recovery process?
  • Why is it essential for leaders to be thoroughly prepared for a cyber-incident? As non-specialists, what is their role in ensuring a rapid and full recovery?
  • When and how should recovery plans be tested? Who should be involved in testing and how should the results of any tests be integrated into plans for business recovery?
